Rams teaching Rams took place last week as the PSD Elementary Advanced Learning Program students participated in a dissection lab at OGE. Students from Amanda Davis’ PHS science class led the elementary students in the dissection lab. Students dissected fetal pigs and frogs. They also rotated through learning stations. Way to go, Rams! Great news from our PJHS and PHS Quiz Bowl teams! The PJHS team placed 2nd in the 5A Regional Tournament and will move on to STATE! In addition, Cara Prince and Jude Johnson were named to the All Tournament team! Our Senior High Quiz Bowl team placed 3rd yesterday at the NEA Educational Coop tournament! Proud of our Rams.

Due to circumstances out of our control, the PSD pageant will be held in the senior high gym instead of the auditorium. Please make sure to attend rehearsal so that you are familiar with the set up and arrangements. The Senior High Gym is located on the High School campus at 1701 West Court Street. Once you enter the parking lot look for the building with the round roof and enter through the glass doors that face the side of court street. Email jwallace@paragouldschools.net with any questions.

Congratulations to Paragould High School for being named to the 2024 AP School Honor Roll! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP program is delivering results and broadening access for students. Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing their school’s college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. PHS was awarded the Bronze Level in 2024. A big shout out to all of our 2024 AP Scholar Graduates and to our amazing AP teachers. Paragould is blessed to have teachers that are dedicated to our students and their education. For more about this award and our AP program, check out the article in this month's edition of NEA's Premiere Magazine featuring AP student, Sam Hooten and AP Coordinator, Sarah Cooper.

There are currently six Paragould School District bus routes that will be impacted due to flooding concerns. We certainly understand that some students may need to be checked out early due to these concerns. Please watch for upcoming notifications for bus 5, 10, 74, 78, 86, and 90.

We want to extend our heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to all who competed and placed at the STATE BETA convention. We are proud of you! More photos can be found on the PSD Facebook page.

The Paragould School District was able to provide a Thanksgiving meal to more than 30 families thanks to the generous donation from members of the Junior Auxiliary. Pictured here is Ms. Sydney Watts who spearheaded the program. We are thankful and grateful for all JA does for the kids in our community.
