March is National Reading Month, and Paragould is "raising readers." Next month is designated to motivate Americans of all ages to read every day. To promote reading throughout the whole city of Paragould, we need your help! Please put your favorite book in the window of your store and home. Let's involve the whole community and see books in every window! We want our students from all of our local schools to be inspired by the many people in Paragould that read. Doing this one simple thing can make a big difference to motivate our younger generation to become avid readers.
Congratulations to Dr. Nick Jankoviak for being selected as the superintendent of Paragould School District! Dr. Jankoviak has served in many capacities including assistant superintendent, federal programs coordinator, principal of Woodrow Wilson Elementary, principal of Oak Grove Elementary and principal of Paragould Primary. His past experience and passion for education will continue to be great assets for PSD. It is a great day to be a Ram!! #psdrams

Today, Wednesday, February 10, will be a virtual learning day for all K-12 students. PSD will be closed today due to the inclement weather.
PSD will be sending Chromebooks and chargers home each day for the rest of the week. Please return the devices to school each day with your child. This does not mean students have the OPTION of staying home. This is in case the school district has to close due to inclement weather.
If PSD closes, students will transition to virtual learning. Your child should meet through Zoom with his/her teacher on virtual learning days.
In the event that you lose internet connection as a result of weather, your child’s work can be made up at a later time. If a majority of the district is without internet, parents will be notified that students should work on a “No Internet” set of assignments for the day that are available offline. This will only need to be done if the school or district informs you specifically to do this.
If you do not have the Paragould School District app on your smartphone, please download it so you will receive the latest school information. You can also check KAIT and the Multicultural Rams of Paragould Facebook page for updates on school closures in English, Spanish and Marshallese.
Please charge the Chromebook nightly so that your child can access his/her instructional materials when necessary. Thank you for your assistance.
PSD administration is monitoring the weather closely. Chromebooks and chargers will be sent home with all K-12 students this afternoon. Paper packets are being sent home with PK students this afternoon. In the event that PSD is closed tomorrow, the district will utilize a virtual day for grades K-12. Students will need to bring the Chromebooks and chargers back to school when they return.
