Financial Aid Night

Paragould High School will host Financial Aid Night for all PHS students (9-12) and their families on November 30, 2023 at 5:30 p.m.

What is Financial Aid Night? If a student plans to attend a trade school, community college, or a university after high school, they will apply for financial aid (grants and scholarships) to pay for that education. Financial Aid Night is an opportunity for students and families to learn about this process, opportunities that will allow students to pursue a debt-free education, athletic scholarships and scouting,  and to ask questions that will help you prepare. We highly encourage your attendance at this event if your student is considering furthering their education beyond high school.

FAFSA Kick-off! Financial aid professionals will be present to help current seniors and their parents start this application process. The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and must be completed by seniors and parents to be eligible for federal Pell grants, Arkansas Lottery scholarships and grants, college and university scholarships, some privately-funded scholarships, and local scholarships. The FAFSA application has changed this year and those changes will be explained at this event.

Mini Financial Aid Fair: We have invited the most popular destination schools for our students to set up tables in the Senior Lounge to deliver scholarship information specific to that college or university. Those schools include Arkansas State University, Black River Technical College, the University Of Arkansas, the University of Central Arkansas, and Williams Baptist University.

Games will be set up in the gym for families with little Rams, and dinner will be provided by our Career Coach, Mrs. Shearer. PHS students and parents will also receive a ticket for prize drawings when you enter through the main entrance of the high school.

If you have any questions about the event, please email Mrs. Shearer at fshearer@paragouldschools.net.
