7th grade volleyball tryouts are being held on Monday April 3rd from 3:45-5:30 and Tuesday April 4th from 3:45-4:30.  Any 6th grade girl wanting to try out must get a volleyball info sign-off form, and they must have a current physical (both forms are in the office).
Coach Nailing is also holding after school practices from 3:45-5:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the tryout for anyone that wants to attend to get practice before the tryout date.

Forms are available in the OGMS front office. They have also been uploaded to the Documents page of the OGMS website.

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE TRYING OUT:

  1.  This is a commitment.  There will be summer practices and summer camps.  We have open gyms throughout June. Starting in July, we have mandatory daily practices plus camps. You will be expected to be at these practices and camps.

  2. You must EARN your spot on the court.  Playing time is NOT guaranteed in 7th grade. This is a competitive sport and the coach will put the most competitive players on the court.

  3. This is a TEAM sport.  You  are  required to be positive and supportive of each other at all times whether you are on or off the court.

  4. Each player will be responsible for gear and uniforms.  Anything given to athletes is expected to return in the same condition (these will be handed out in August).

  5. *****Each player will be responsible for communicating with parents and coaches*****    It is the player’s responsibility to keep parents informed of volleyball information, and it is also the player's responsibility to communicate with coaches if they have questions or concerns. Once we have tryouts, a way for coaches to communicate with athletes will be set up via GroupMe. There will NOT be a parent GroupMe/communication thread set up by the coaches.

    1. Exceptions will be made for athletes who do not have a cell phone and/or have extenuating circumstances.

  6. It is up to YOU to get better off the court.  The one to two hour practices are not going to make you great.  Only YOU can work on your own time to become a great player.

  7. Hard work is required.  You are expected to come to practices and games and give 100% effort.

  8. There will be a cost for camps (if money is an issue, please get in contact with me) and team shoes (team shoes are not required to be bought).  Shoes will be ordered in the summer and camps will be in July and August.

It is a privilege to become a Lady Ram Volleyball Player.  Our program is growing and you will have the opportunity to become a part of something great.  We are excited about the future of the Lady Ram Volleyball program!  We look forward to seeing you at skill workouts and/or tryouts!

Please contact me if you have any questions!

***A PHYSICAL will be required for tryouts on April 3rd (physical sheets were provided along with this form). A player can NOT tryout without a physical form completed by a doctor.

*If a player has a physical completed for another sport, they are covered for all sports.

***You must have the attached agreement form signed and returned BEFORE you are allowed to participate in any volleyball activity (skill workouts and/or tryouts).
