Advanced Placement Awards

Zoe Rodrigues addressed special guests, parents, and the PHS student body and faculty September 20 at the AP Awards ceremony. State representative Jimmy Gazaway; Patty Lee, NIDEC Human Resource manager; and Ronnie Howe, NIDEC Production Manager honored PHS with their presence as students were recognized for high performance on AP exams. Students must score a 3, 4, or 5 on the exams to receive a passing score. NIDEC generously donated funds so that every student received $100 for each exam passed. Jackson Parker, 2019 PHS graduate who is currently a Yale University freshman, passed five exams and is a 2019 National AP Scholar.  Many students received awards and checks!  Congratulations to every student and AP teacher! AP teachers are Cody Ballard, Pam Beach, Anmity Bruton, Greg Garrison, Andrea Minor, Tim Parrott, Amanda Pillow, Kelli Rollins-Stidham, Courtney Smith. Karen Snyder is the PHS AP Coordinator.
